ANSWER:
Determining health and safety indicators are essential to define
the safety culture in the company.
Organizations health and safety culture can be assessed by the means of
health safety indicators. The company is having amazing health and safety
culture that means HSE indicators in organization are highly positive.
Several HSE positive indicators of the organisation are enlisted below:
Management strongly believes in setting objectives and attaining them
that specifies PDCA cycle implementation is present in the Organisation.
In order to avoid any strict enforcement from the National Legislation
bodies company has taken care of all the legal compliance required by the
chemical manufacturing business. The safety standards are high and has
set trend nationally which is used as bench-marking for the other
industries in similar business. The hiring process in the organization is
also up to mark as they deploy highly motivated and competent workers. Due
to the excellent safety culture the sickness and absenteeism rate is
deliberately low this results in less staff turnover and
high productivity.
Effective communication leads the company to resolves the concerns from
the worker and clients complaints this also leads to the customer
satisfaction. That means consultation is in place in
the organisation.
Less incident/accidents rates indicates the active monitoring system is
implemented and in conformance to the set standards. In order to take
precautions for the foreseen risks near misses are also investigated without
fail.
Irrespective of high premium cost management has fully insured the
organisation to recompense the direct cost losses occurrence during
accident to the maximum.
Internal and External Audits are conducted in
the organisation as per the necessity this leads the continuous
improvement in performance of the company. Role and responsibilities
are clearly defined from top management to the worker so
the organization work as a team in order to achieve the set
objective and the ownership is shown by individual employees in their role
assigned.
Team work example and fulfillment of roles and responsibilities is seen
while trouble shooting the technical blockage problem in tank which
made collectively big issue small.
Corporate management positive attitude and active participation in the
issue shows their high commitment to HSE which is the key to success
in the organization.
It clearly justifies from the scenario that company have good safe
system of work this is a reasonable national health and safety
requirement; this also abides the set of rules and instruction to performing
the work activity safely. That means the training associated with SSOW is
also properly recorded and maintained under supervision.
General Health and safety arrangement in the organisation is
in proper place as the risk assessment carrying out is suitable and
sufficient.
The proper communication channel is followed and the authority of the
employees are clearly stated and well aware by the complete team in organization.
Consultation in the organization is also introduced throughout
in the organization since there were several meetings conducted
by the authorized person involving other delegates.
Contractor management is also up to the mark as the summary of the risk
assessment, control measures and plant design safely prepared was
explained to all the workers. PTW and Method statement was imposed on the
sub-contractors before commencing the work.
