Question 2:  For a health and safety management system to work properly you need to have clear roles and responsibilities. Comment on the evidence from the scenario that would contribute to the effectiveness of the roles and responsibilities.                             (Marks- 10)

ANSWER:

As per the scenario the evidence that will contribute to the effectiveness of the roles and responsibilities are enlisted below:

The Organization sets clear objective and checking if they are met by the method of continuous monitoring this lead them achieve it. When objectives are met it helps the employee understand their clear job ethics, requirement and work related documentation.

The job responsibilities of the worker is precisely explained which keeps them motivated and develop eagerness in them for improving in their role. Their responsibilities are documented which means there good performance will have them grow in company.

The internal communication is strong in the company due to this they listen to the workers concern and take corrective actions and measures, this boost their confident in reporting accidents, incidents and unsafe behavior directly which contributes HSE system.

External communication helps the organization in resolving customer complaints in a professional way this leads the customer satisfaction and increase in the business profits.

Escalation of technical issue to my senior because I am unauthorized and proper channel for intimated about the issue.

The local site manger conducted a meeting on site involving engineers, supervisors and operators and once the meeting is concluded and trouble was rectified they informed the corporate management

Corporate management is active and involved quickly showing ownership when the problem got arises and represented senior competent engineer suitable for the task.

When I was unfamiliar with technology proposed by the engineer he invited me to the meeting this help me understand and develop my knowledge.

Finding trouble shooting for the modification of tank has happened with team management whilst whole team engaged and several meetings conducted involving top management. This shows that the any problem can be resolved when dealt with the team in resolving it.

Circulating the Risk assessment among-st the workers makes them understand the risk associated and PTW system consist of key detail helps them follow the work procedures.

Continual inspection and supervision may encounter the deficiency it the effectiveness of role and responsibilities will be clarified.
