Task 5: Influencing behavior to improve
performance
Question #5-When workers eventually return to
working in the office, with the new control measures in place, they will need
to adopt new behaviors. You think that the organization will be effective in positively
influencing this behavior change.
Justify why you believe this, using examples from the scenario only to
support your justification.

:
The organization is highly professional and ISO
certified and they really do care about the safety and health of their
employees. In order to ensure the safety of the employees the management
has already taken all the control measures to limit the virus spread in order
to resume work from office. Organization has taken following actions
that will help all the employees in effectively influencing positive
behavioral change with the new way of working methods are enlisted below:

The
detailed research and risk assessment has been carried out as per the
Management request by HSE advisor before resuming work from office safely
and to limit the virus spread. The RA significant findings has been
shared during the computer based team meet and a signed copy of RA will also
be displayed on all HSE notice board.
·
Newly developed
safe work procedures and control measures on limiting the virus
spread shall be circulated to all employees and also shared on the
company intranet.
·
A step wise procedure on personal hygiene and
hand washing procedures including social distancing will be
circulated to all workers by email. Posters on
hand washing methods shall be fixed in washrooms.
·
The contract with
the cleaning company shall be extended for the sanitization and
more frequent and extensive cleaning of work
place on regular basis.
·
New
Hand sanitizing procedures will be prepared and displayed on the
company intranet for referencing. HSE advisor will develop new work
instruction on social distancing and also write a procedure for wearing
PPE at work for the workers working in
enclosed rooms. Additional social distancing measures for
managing virus transmission will also be posted ion companies
intranet.

Human Resource Department
will update first-aid policy, fire evacuation arrangements
and other emergency procedures.
·
Health
and Safety management system shall be updated with all new procedures to
control the spread of virus. A system will be developed for reporting the
virus related infected cases to government authorities.
·
Training shall
be provided to all the employees for implementing and understanding
all the modified procedures by the workers and for their
ease to follow them.
·
Behavioral safety
observation and safety tours will be conducted by managers and
supervisors for the effective implementation of the
new arrangements and its compliance.
·
All
procedures will be linked with disciplinary procedures by HR
department and the policy for the visitors will also be
revised and controlling contractors.

Conclusion:
Therefore it is clearly justified from the above
mentioned details that the control measures and development of various
policies and procedures by the management will lead the
organization to effectively influence positive behavioral change with the
new style of work resuming from office.
